One-time international champion Ricky Hatton was "eager about upcoming plans" prior to his death, as stated by loved ones.

The British fighter, aged, passed away at his residence on Sunday.

Police indicated that zero questionable factors involved.

Loved ones mentioned that "to all our knowledge, even with his well-documented difficulties, he was doing well".

"Everyone is deeply saddened over the incident that occurred in the past few days".

"He was surrounded throughout his time and even before prior to Sunday.

Hatton had spoken about fighting emotional challenges back in 2023, became the subject in a film that explored his private struggles and emotional battles.

Relatives shared that Hatton was discovered by pal and representative Paul Speak.

He secured forty-five wins out of 48 total professional fights throughout an impressive time in the sport becoming titleholder in the junior welterweight and welterweight classes.

The last time he fought professionally back in 2012 after being scheduled to take on a fighter in early December in Dubai.

Fight officials stated the bout was intended as a sanctioned match, however details remained not confirmed whether it would be completely approved.

His relatives stated: "He had packed was ready for the trip to Dubai to promote a comeback match plus he planning an event in Dubai, where his beloved children his family were to be honored at.

"He was excited so they could watch him fight live up close.

"He also a doting granddad and loved spending time his grandchildren."

Hatton's family appealed for a phase of solemn mourning noting that information for a tribute event are expected to be shared later on.
