Early Thursday, Alan Levy was inside the worship center when a perpetrator crashed into and stabbed attendees assembling for a service to mark the holy day. He explained that the 'evil' perpetrator attempted to break down the entrances of the place of worship, and he remembered locking down the building with fellow worshippers. Adrian Daulby, 53, and Melvin Cravitz, 66 died in the attack on Thursday, while three others were injured while trying to protect others. Eyewitness Description of the Attack The individual, who acts as a key figure at the synagogue, recounted securing the entrances and stated that the assailant wielded sharp objects and outdoor items to force his way inside. I observed this great, big, evil monster ram in the front doors, attempting to break them open holding a sharp weapon," he told interviewers. The sole statement I heard was him saying 'this is what you're going to get for killing our children'. That was all I heard him say. And we were within the synagogue and we were declaring 'we are not letting this man in'. He appeared as a crazed, violent individual." Funeral Observed for Victim The comments were made as a large gathering took part in the funeral service for one of the victims. Relatives, congregants from the local Jewish community including a religious leader, and participants of the Jewish population assembled in a nearby location to honor the deceased. Mourners occupied the cemetery forecourt, with several waiting in the open the chapel in the rain, following the proceedings over speakers. Through a statement issued on Friday, his relatives expressed that he would "do anything to help anyone". Law Enforcement Probe and Arrests Law enforcement reported that one victim appeared to have been hit by law enforcement rounds as they neutralized the perpetrator shortly after the emergency call. Mr Daulby, who was described by his family as a "brave individual", was participating in a service at the temple when the incident began. He had been a cherished sibling, devoted uncle to his several nieces and a nephew and a valued relative," his relatives added. Relatives are shocked by the unexpected loss of a kind and humble individual. "His final act was one of profound courage and he will forever be remembered for his courageous effort." A number of apprehensions have been made in connection with the incident, and police confirmed that several individuals were still detained on that time. The detained were arrested on suspicion of involvement in terrorist acts. Those arrested are several men, of specific ages and apprehended nearby; a 61-year-old woman arrested in Prestwich; and a woman in her 40s detained in another location. Two additional individuals were let go with no further proceedings, police reported on the following day.
